How can i win an ex back?

Long story short i was dating a guy for almost 2 years. We eventually broke up ( i ended it with him). We both went our own way and it took him awhile to move on. Time had passed and i realized how much i missed him and didn't realize how much he meant to me. (we still kept in touch) I began talking to him more because i wanted him back in my life. Then i found out that he has a girlfriend. ): Now normally i'd be really happy for him but he tells me he's not 100% happy with her.He even talks about things him and i used to do together. I don't know exactly how i can tell him how badly i miss him and that i want to be with him again. Or if i should even get involved. What should i do?How can i win an ex back?
