How do i get back with my ex-boyfriend, i think i love him?

well,ok i had a boyfriend and well i broke up him with because he did something i didn't like and i heard some more things so i broke up with him. well that was about a moth ago and i can't stop thinking about him. we are still friends and well we are kinda like close and talk bout a lot. he just broke with his girlfriend and i was gonna tell him i want to get back together and then he told me that something bad had happened to one of his friends and i didn't tell him cause i didn't want to insensitive so i didn't what do i do i think i love him?
